We thought it would be a good place to warm up before leaving the zoo. It was near closing time and the sloth was very active as she comes down from her tree every night and goes to a cage to be fed. Sometimes in the wild sloths grow moss on them because they move so little. Our family loved to visit the NC Museum of Science in Raleigh. In all the times we visited it through the years we never saw the sloth move, I don't think we ever saw his eyes! So watching the sloth move was quite a treat. Their hair grows opposite a dog's hair, from the center of its belly down over its sides.
