I love lighthouses. When we lived in NC we visited all the lighthouses that were still standing. We climbed those that we could. We have pics in front of all of them. Imagine my delight when I found out there was a lighthouse on Lake Superior and it was a state historic site we could visit! I was once again reminded what a solitary existence the lighthouse keepers and their families had.
