Raven Recovers

Raven had some lumps, the first set burst open and drained. The vet put her on antibiotics and they healed up. She finished her antibiotics and the lumps came back. The vet surgically removed the lumps, and infected tissue. He put in a drain and lots of stitches. She went back on antibiotics and we flushed her drain twice a day. The incision healed nicely, the vet took out the stitches and the drain. The culture grew enterococcus bacteria, so the vet switched her antibiotics. She had such a good attitude during the whole ordeal and is healing nicely. She is missing the hunting trips, though. She does not like being left behind.

Youth Pheasant Hunt

The boys and Daddy went on a youth hunt sponsored by Pheasants Forever. Because the fields were still full of crops(due to rain the farmers are far behind on their harvest)they went to a game farm. It is legal to shoot hen pheasants at a game farm. They also brought home a woodcock.

Been Farmin' Long?

After a fun morning at the maze, we grabbed a sandwich for the ride to the airport. Daddy took our four older children home and Baby and I drove my sister and her boys to the airport. When they changed clothes in the airport bathroom you should have seen the corn kernals on the floor! Thank you fro coming D and boys! We had a great visit, see you in NC in a couple of weeks!

Corn Maze

Several years ago we met my sisters' and their children at a corn maze near Fayetteville, NC. We had a great time. We planned to meet there again the next fall. Fast forward to fall and we were a long way from NC, we found a maze here in MN and another one the next year. When I found out the dates for my sister's visit I looked around here for a maze we could conquer. This one was billed as the largest corn maze in the US and it was on the way to the airport. It was the only sunny day of their visit and we had a great time. But, we all agreed the maze in Fayetteville was the best.
