More from Minneopa

I love digital cameras,

I can take tons of pictures, trying to get everyone looking at me, hoping for smiles, and delete the unflattering ones.

A beautiful fall day

despite the raindrops. The picnic shelter where we ate lunch was set up for an afternoon wedding and someone was having his senior pictures taken. There was alot of water going over Minneopa Falls today.

Smile!

On the way to our lunch spot

we stopped at a new Nicollette County Park. This land had been privately owned, when it came up for sale recently the county bought it, allowing this beautiful waterfall to be seen by the public. There was not much water going over it, but it reminded us of nearby

Minneopa Falls.

Saturday dawned drippy and dreary

but Daddy had some work to do so we decided to continue with our plans to watch a sheep shearing and go on to a couple of parks. They were Icelandic sheep, which have only been in the US a short time. The farmer and the shearer answered lots of questions and shared their passion about sheep with us. Later, we got to see some of the wool in various stages of processing. My grandparents, my mom's mom and dad had traveled to Iceland. Among the things they brought home were mittens and a blanket, which had the same colors in them as the sheep we saw today.

We played round robin ping-pong,

read and listened to stories and celebrated Gramma and Daddy's birthdays!

Gramma and Grampa arrived

from North Carolina. We still had alot of apples left so we made some clove apples, applesauce, and dried apples, in the dehydrator and in the window. We also played games, cards and looked at pictures on Grampa's computer.

First Frost

September 30th, just the roof and the car windows though, the plants seem ok.

Fishing Merit Badge

Little Brother took the Fishing Merit Badge at camp this summer. He had to catch, clean, cook and eat a fish to finish the badge. So this is the result of our fishing expedition, yum!

All together now, say "Fish".
