Homeschool Game Day

We enjoyed a gathering at one of the homeschooling family's homes. The children played games and the moms talked about spring activities, testing and our end of the year program. We look forward to our next gathering.

Ducks Unlimited Banquet

After the campout I took the boys to the country club to join Daddy at the DU banquet. We stopped on the way to the cc at the state park to see what it looked like in winter. There was some open water on the river. We saw the deer at the cc. Little Brother won a five foot tall decorative windmill for my garden. The boys will probably try to harness the energy though. Big Brother won the game.

Winter Campout

The boys returned from an overnight at a nearby state historic site. There is sledding and tubing on a hill there. Their favorite activity was snowshoeing!

Thrifty Cookies

After Valentine's Day even the cookies were marked down. They tasted just as yummy after Valentine's Day as they would have before. See the apron on Big Sister? She and Gramma made it during their visit.

Snow Dogs

More Snow Pictures

The blob in the middle of the woods pic is an owl, probably a barred owl. We followed it from the cedar trees in our grove to another section, but we couldn't get close enough for a good pic or a positive ID.

Snow Day!

Good Bye!

I was looking at the weather when I realized we had a winter storm warning for Thursday, the day Grampa and Gramma were scheduled to leave. After some quick computer work by Grampa and thanks to our personal "travel agent" they were out of here a day early and ahead of the storm. It turned out to be the heaviest snowfall of the season. We were glad they didn't get snowed in. We miss you already.

Thank You

Mom and Dad for coming to this winter wonderland and caring for our children so we could enjoy some fun in the sun. It was wonderful to spend time with you, as always.

We enjoyed our visit with Grampa and Gramma.

Gramma read stories, lots of stories. Daddy took Grampa to watch the dogs work the field. Gramma and Grampa gave the girls manis and pedis. Grampa played cards and darts. We baked and enjoyed a tea party.

Skating at the Park

Our town recreation department maintains a couple of outdoor ice rinks complete with warming rooms. It was a beautiful day, so we took Grampa and Gramma to the park.

Big Sister teaches Grampa to play "Trash".

Happy 2nd Birthday Baby!

When Daddy and I got home from California we celebrated again. He never actually blew out his candle but his face was so cute. He doesn't have many words yet, but he sang "Happy Birthday" over and over again.
