Mother's Day

Her children bless her. Proverbs 31:28

Air show

What a wonderful air show. We saw planes, jets, tanks and helicopters. We climbed on and into, and even tried on helmets. The Blue Angels were spectacular. We are truly thankful for an awesome military that keeps us safe, at home and abroad.

The Secret Garden

Not quite secret but, still beautiful.

The Ronald McDonald House at Duke University Hospital

Our homeschool 4-H club collected and delivered items to the Ronald McDonald House at Duke University Hospital. We saw a short movie about the house, had a tour and decorated the doors with spring pictures we had made. I am so very thankful for healthy children.

The road less traveled. . .

After riding we took a hike to find these rhododendron. A naturalist, B.W. Wells, found this stand of rhododendron in the 1930's far, far from where they should be. He called it a freak of nature, I call it another of God's surprises. They are native to the NC mountains, but we were hiking in Johnston County.

While cousin was visiting we . . .

picked strawberries, played in our favorite tree near a favorite picnic spot, went to the beach and then explored the Airborne and Special Ops museum. Sorry the last picture is sideways, I put it in that way and can't figure out how to fix it. .

Street Hockey

Cousin was tracked out of school and coming for a visit. We watched his game of street hockey before we brought him to our home.

jealous?

Big Brother and Big Sister wanted pics of themselves with Baby Brother posted after Little Sister and Little Brother had that honor. . .They are all wonderful helpers with the baby and they do all love him dearly.

Field Trip

It was a great day to be outdoors and learn about Naval Stores at one of our state's teaching forests. Later we had classes with our homeschool group and the forest ranger on "trees" and "predator and prey". Then a yummy picnic.

The Patio

We bought the bricks last summer and after they had sufficiently aged and served as a medium for mud art(see my monet post) they were turned into a lovely patio by Daddy, Big Brother, Little Brother and my Father in law. It is a great place for picnics and sitting in the adirondack chairs in the evening listening to peepers.
