Ready for the Wilder Pageant

When I was a little girl I loved the Little House series. I fondly recall reading and rereading the books, playacting with my friend H, drawing scenes from the story, and watching the series on TV. When the boys were younger they enjoyed the book series as well. This spring we finished reading the series to the girls for the second time. We live an hour from Plum Creek and Walnut Grove. Every summer during the month of July in Walnut Grove there is an outdoor play depicting the Ingalls' lives while they lived "On the Banks of Plum Creek". My mom took home the fabric and pattern I had purchased to make the girls' period dresses. She sewed the dresses and sent them along. The girls have very much enjoyed wearing them. When she sent Little Sister's dress she included an apron she had found for me in a thrift store. When the girls saw the apron they insisted that I make a dress and bonnet to go along with the apron, so I could dress up also, when we went to see the play. Believe it or not, I was not the only adult dressed up at the pageant! And yes, I am referring to audiance members! It was a beautiful night and we enjoyed the play very much.
