Metamorphosis

Our Monarch is beautiful. We noticed that the chrysalis was transparent and I went to get my camera, by the time I had returned he was out! We put him and his chrysalis outside on a milkweed plant. He stayed there most of the day drying and gaining strength. We did not see him as he flew away. I was most surprised at how quickly parts of his metamorphosis took place. We will keep our eyes open for another caterpillar, we'd love to do this again.
