Childhood Stroke Awareness Day
is the first Saturday in May. Well, it is not May anymore but I finally got around to scanning pics for this series of posts. This series of posts is in honor of my third child, my first girl whose birthday was February 8th, 2000. I had a great pregnancy and a wonderful delivery. The next morning I noticed her foot twitching, later that day she was being resucitated and moved into the NICU. After a bunch of tests they determined that she had had a stroke. A Left Anterior Cerebral Artery Ischemic stroke. I didn't even know babies could have strokes. She spent a week in the hospital and then we brought our beautiful little girl home. In honor of all the children who are stroke survivors and in memory of all those who lost their battle with stroke I ask you to check out these sites http://www.pediatricstrokehope.org/ http://www.kidshavestrokes.org/ http://www.chasa.org/ and video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3785243523580759289 sorry can't seem to link that google Timebomb: Pediatric Stroke. Thank you.
