I like to keep an extra of the personal care, laundry care, and home care products we use. This way when we run out of something I can say run to the broom closet and get the extra, instead of having to run to the grocery store. When we use something from the extra bin I write it on my grocery list and next time I'm at the store I pick it up and replenish my extra bin. The extra laundry and home care items had their own space but, the personal care stuff was all in this bin. It was not easy to locate the extra item you needed, thus it usually fell to me to do it, and I would have to lug this bin to the kitchen table to find what I needed. I seperated the stuff into smaller bins and baskets, and then I labeled them! Now, it is easy to get to the extra item you need and the children can find it themselves! The funny thing, while I was organizing this closet I was talking to my sister who was organizing at her house. It seemed like a good thing to do on January 1st!
