
The pump to the well may have been original to the house, over 100 years old. Now, it did have a motor attatched to it at some point in time, just so you know we weren't pumping our water by hand or even by wind. But, everyone that looked at it said, "I've never seen one like that." Every day that it pumped water for two - seven baths or showers, a load of dishes or two and one - four loads of laundry was one day that we hadn't counted on. So before winter set in we replaced the pump. The electricity had to be turned off at the road. There was a crane and a cherry picker, it was great entertainment.
