I think we ended up with 124 plants. Some of the types we had were, Big Boy and Little Girl, Beefsteak, Romas and Cherry tomatoes. We thought we left enough room between them when we planted, but we were wrong. Most days when it was time to pick tomatoes we had to use the wagon. We enjoyed tomato sandwiches, BLT's, tomato salad, fresh sauce, fresh salsa and all sorts of dishes made with tomatoes. I had plenty of tomatoes to can as well, I'll save that for another post. When we found rotten ones we gave them to the chickens. Did you know chickens LOVE tomatoes? When we would toss them a tomato or two they would play "Toccer"(tomato soccer). Chickens are quite agile and very fast.
