We have two apple trees in our yard. One is a baking apple (tart) and the other is an eating apple (not quite as tart). Last year we found and ate a total of three ! apples. This year I was prepared, I bought fruit tree spray. The directions said something about a still evening and poison. Well, it is rarely still here and when it was there were too many children around, so I still have the fruit tree spray. But, we had apples, lots of apples, probably 10 bushels. Some of the apples we could pick from the ground, the boys picked the others from the tractor bucket.
