The First Fruits of our Labor

The garden peas and green beans were so yummy! I knew that head lettuce MUST grow somewhere but who knew I could grow it in MY garden?! As we were staking the tomatoes some green ones were knocked off the vines. The children asked Gramma to make a green tomato pie. I must say I was a bit aprehensive about eating it, but it was wonderful and very much like an apple pie. In fact, I have promised the children, that if there are any green tomatoes when the frost comes I'll make another green tomato pie.
