Welcome Home Boys!

They had a great time at camp despite a few challenges. Big Brother is eager to go back next summer (all summer) as a counselor. Little Brother said he will request Big Brother eat all his meals with their troop. What I should have taken a picture of was all the dirty laundry.

Gramma and Grampa arrive!

The girls and the baby were very glad to see them, the boys were still at camp.

Wind Power

On our way home we saw these windmills. Not nearly as beautiful as the old fashioned ones but, much more efficient. I know there are some challenges with them and ,oh boy, are they expensive, but I still think they are under used in this windy area and I am glad to hear our county is building some more.

Wow!

It was a beautiful waterfall and had there been more water would have been a double. We saw a turtle in the pool at the bottom of it. The peacock was in the mini zoo. Little Sister took the picture of Big Sister, Baby and me. Pretty good photo for a five year old.

Afterwards

we went to a park. It is the largest municipal park in MN. Once upon a time it had been a state park and was constructed by WPA, beautiful old stone buildings much like the state park located in our city. At some point in time it was given to the city. It had picnic areas, camping, toilet facilities, water, shade, sun, playgrounds, a mini zoo with mainly native and farm animals, hiking trails, a cool swinging bridge and a waterfall. We had a picnic, played on a playground and then took a hike to find the bridge nad waterfall. This park is a definite "do again".

Strawberry Fields (Forever)

I've picked strawberries every spring for too many years to count. I remember picking with my family, then Boyfriend ( who later became Husband), then with children and various friends. I love strawberries, they may be my favorite fruit. But, I also love picking strawberries. The big boys were at camp when I finally found a field for picking. The berries were much smaller than those in NC but just as sweet. We should have weighed Baby before and after, I think he ate as many as we picked!
