Christmas Parade

While the boys went to hockey practice with Daddy, I took the girls and the baby to the town Christmas Parade. There were dogs, horses, music, nativity scenes, lights, candy and santa on a firetruck. It was clear and 31 degrees F. The moon was almost full. I love a small town parade to kick off the Christmas season.

Self_Portrait

Done with the self timer on the camera~not too bad!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We are thankful to God for so many things. . . our relationship with our Lord, marriage, family, friends, health, work, a home, food, armed forces, public servants, the United States of America . . .

The children are especially thankful this morning for SNOW!

Playdate for mommy!

Last weekend I left the older four children in Daddy's capable hands and drove to Iowa to meet a friend. I have a close friend, she and I always joke that we'd like our mansions in heaven to be next door to each other or at least on the same cul de sac. . .When we first met we lived about 45 minutes apart, then we moved and it was an hour and a half. Her husband and mine were going through the career change/family move process at about the same time. Her husband moved first, then Daddy started to work in MN while we still lived in NC, then their family moved to KS and then months later we joined Daddy in MN. She and I had not seen each other since June! God moved both our families halfway across the country, far from family and friends but, within 7 hours of each other! So, we met in the middle. She was getting a cold, but noone believes that, everyone thinks we talked so much she went hoarse! Thank you to both our husbands who "held down the fort" and to the children who let their mommies have the first playdate! See you this winter!

Snow!

I know you can barely see it, but there is snow on the roof! It is November 5th! It is fall, see the fall flags? Fall in MN is certainly different than fall in NC!

More visitors!

My sister and the older two of her three boys came to visit. We caught up on family news, played, did a science project, made cookies, and caramel apples, moved firewood and did some sightseeing. When we arrived at the airport there were snowflakes in the air!

Our second visitors were

Daddy's parents. I haven't asked their permission to post their pics and didn't have an obscured one of Grampa. We had a wonderful time with them, there was pheasant hunting, snuggles, cleaning and organizing, and electric work, lots of electric work.

As promised. . .

This big pile of corn is near where Daddy works. That is a semi, not a matchbox car.
