Whoops! I forgot a state. . .

Illinois. We had a picnic at a lovely rest stop complete with a playground!

They got the small truck to ferry the stuff after the semi almost landed in the ditch trying to turn into the driveway. The field is leased to a farmer, it is planted with soy beans.

Home at Last!

Here we are in South West rural Minnesota, 22 driving hours and about 1200 miles after we left North Carolina.

Iowa

We camped at another KOA Kamping Kabin, before bed we made s'mores.

Indiana

We didn't stop in Indiana either, but it was a beautiful state.

Kentucky

We camped at a KOA Kamping Kabin. We ate Kentucky Fried Chicken in Kentucky. During the night the dogs woke up, we didn't see or hear anything, but in the morning there were raccoon footprints all over the picnic table.

West Virginia

We stopped at a state park to picnic and stretch our legs, all 26 of them(the snakes don't have legs and the birds didn't get out).

Virginia

Excuse the blurry photo, we didn't stop in Virginia, so this photo was taken at 65 mph.

Leaving North Carolina

Pilot
Mountain.

Half way across the country with

one rabbit
two birds
two snakes
two dogs
and seven family members.

Loading Day

Packing Day

A quick recap. . .

In July we celebrated Independence Day, participated (I taught) in our church's VBS, visited friends at the beach and then went on to Roanoke Island where we saw the outdoor production of "The Lost Colony", went on a "Bear Walk" and saw bears and on a "Red Wolf Howl" and heard red wolves howl, the kids went on some overnights at their grandparents homes and Cousin came to visit for a few days.

In August we went out for dinner several times with different friends as going away parties. The big boys went to Minnesota with Daddy to do some work on the house and we got ready to move.

Long Time, No post

But, since the purpose of my blog is to keep far flung family and friends abreast of our special moments and everyday ones as well, in words and pictures, I'll be posting more consistently.
