Spring has sprung!

Aim for the moon

even if you miss you'll land among the stars. On our airport field trip the other day Big Brother said to me, "Some day I'll fly one of these(Blackhawk helicopter)." "I don't doubt that you will," I replied.

Leaving on a jet plane. . .

Daddy is traveling on business this week. He left the house at 4:30 am, he had a safe flight and a productive day. We talk every night. A colleague suggested that we try a video conference on the computer. . .great idea but we are still working out some bugs. The kids(and I) sure do enjoy being able to see Daddy when they(we) talk to him at night.

Baby Dedication

Today was baby dedication at our church, there were 5 babies and 1 older child. The sermon was an admonition to raise our "arrows" to be straight, strong and sharp for the Lord. Baby is wearing a gown I made from the train of my wedding gown. The bonnet was tatted by my grandmother for my father to wear. I wore it when I was a baby. The blanket was a gift from my husband's great- grandparents when his brother was a baby. He used it, also. The gown, bonnet and blanket were used by the other 4 children for their dedications. Baby slept through the entire service!

Pine Wood Derby and Peas Porridge Hot

Younger brother had placed 4th in our Pack Pine Wood Derby in February, and today was the District Derby. He showed great sportsmanship and came in 6th. The girls didn't pay much attention to the races but enjoyed a rousing game of Peas Porridge Hot.

Fieldtrip!

Our homeschool group went on a fieldtrip today to our local city/county airport. We got to watch some planes and a helicopter take off and land. We spoke to some private pilots and looked at their planes, talked with some Civil Air Patrol members and saw a Blackhawk helicopter and her crew. The best part, climbing into the helicopter!

Six weeks and one day ago big sister had her heel cord release surgery, today the cast comes off. Tonight, it is bathtime! Dr. is very pleased with the results of the surgery, mommy and daddy are too. Big sister feels weak and wobbly after the surgery and casting and dismayed that she still has to wear a brace(we always explained that she would still need a brace) but, hopefully, in time, she will be glad about the surgery, too.

Happy. . .

first day of spring! and what did little sister wear today, a snowman shirt, has she worn it at all this winter? NO! and Happy 1 month old, baby!

If it is Tuesday, we are at the stable.

While sister rides, the big boys muck out a stall. Little sister watched a momma cat with her new kittens and baby slept through it all!
